Sometimes I let my laptop on over the night to download torrents with the lid down.
You may have noticed that by default, if you take the lid down all laptops either go on standby or turn off to save precious battery.
This is a Windows rule which may be overridden:
1. Open Control Panel ( Click Start -> Control Panel )
2. Power Options
3. Click Advanced Tab
4. Select from the drop down menu: Do nothing
That’s all.
